"Missing Chapters in Arab History: Antiquities and Identity"
In this video, we take you on a journey with Prof. Mounir Arbach and Prof. Mohammed Maraqten to the Arabian Peninsula during the 3rd and 4th centuries AD—a period marked by major political and cultural transformations, as well as conflicts between ancient kingdoms such as the Himyarite Kingdom in the south, and the flourishing of commercial and religious centers in Hijaz, Najran, and Al-Yamama. We will highlight the most prominent kingdoms and cities that played a role in shaping the region’s identity before Islam, such as Yathrib (later Medina), Al-Hira, and Sana’a, in addition to exploring the economic changes and relations with the great empires of that era. |
